WHERE’S HICO, TEXAS?
From DFW:
Hico is about two hours southwest of Dallas, Texas, and 90 minutes southwest of Fort Worth, by car.
From Austin:
Hico is about two hours north of Austin, depending on traffic.
WHAT’S THE GREEN CANOE?
The Green Canoe in Hico is a store, taproom and beer garden. Our store features apparel and accessories from brands like Poncho Outdoors, Orvis, Howler Bros., Turtlebox, Texas Standard, Duck Camp and more. Our taproom is stocked with Texas craft beers along with plenty of great domestics. And our beer garden is the best patio in Hico and a great spot to host events.
WHAT CAN I SHOP FOR AT THE GREEN CANOE?
Our men’s store carries apparel, footwear, hats, accessories, outdoor gear and drinkware from leading Texas and national brands, including Poncho Outdoors, Howler Bros., Orvis, YETI, Turtlebox, Burlebo and Duck Camp. We also carry exclusive Green Canoe and Hico-branded merchandise.

WHERE’S THE GREEN CANOE?
Green Canoe Outfitters is located at 110 N. Elm Street in historic downtown Hico, next to Hico Mercantile.
Hico is approximately 25 minutes from Stephenville, 90 minutes from Fort Worth, two hours from Dallas and Austin, and 90 minutes from Waco.
DOES THE GREEN CANOE SERVE FOOD?
Green Canoe does not operate a kitchen, but outside food is always welcome. Pick up something from a Hico restaurant, bakery or food truck and bring it to the beer garden.

WHAT DOES THE GREEN CANOE HAVE TO DRINK?
Our eight taps feature a rotating selection of Texas craft beer and cider. We also carry bottled and canned beer, popular domestics, wine, hard cider, ranch water, hard seltzers, nonalcoholic beer, craft soda and sparkling water.
Our selection changes frequently, so stop in to see what’s currently available.
DOES THE GREEN CANOE HOST LIVE MUSIC?
Green Canoe hosts live music, festivals, community gatherings and special events throughout the year. All of our public events are family-friendly and free to attend.

CAN I HOST A PRIVATE EVENT AT THE GREEN CANOE?
Yes. Green Canoe’s covered patio and beer garden hosts birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, graduation parties, rehearsal dinners, casual wedding receptions and other private gatherings.
The event space includes nearly 2,000 square feet of covered patio space, two outdoor bars, an outdoor stage, fire pits, dedicated restrooms and nearby street parking.

Monday-Thursday, 10AM-7PM
Friday & Saturday, 10AM-9PM
Sunday, Noon-6PM

WHAT’S HICO KNOWN FOR?
Located right at the top of the scenic Texas Hill Country, Hico is known for its historic downtown, excellent assortment of restaurants, and its association with Billy the Kid. It also has a terrific live music scene, spearheaded by Hico Hall, a former cotton oil mill that’s been meticulously renovated and serves as an event and music venue.
